The Navegantes International Airport received its first international cargo flight in history, operated by a Boeing 767-300 coming from Miami. An operation that marks not only an advancement for the state's infrastructure but also new possibilities for the entire logistical ecosystem of the region, which now benefits from an air cargo route from Miami to Navegantes.
This type of route strengthens Navegantes as a strategic hub for importers, industries, and operators who depend on speed, predictability, and competitiveness in cargo transport.
Agility and Security
According to Hudson H. Zimmermann, Coordinator of Bringer Air Cargo (CWB), the new air route came as a glove for importers in the region. "Analyzing all the imports we have in Santa Catarina, on average 80% went through Guarulhos, Floripa, etc., and we needed a DTA to bring to the Itajaí Valley region. Since our air work focuses on a faster service, we see Navegantes as a key market option, with several players and importers in the region."
Another highlight is that through this agility, importers can be sure that their cargo will arrive with greater speed and security, avoiding potential problems on the road, DTAs, and times of "logistical turmoil" such as Black Friday and Christmas.
"We shortened the DTA part, especially with loads from SP, so initially, the rates may be aggressive when compared directly, but we are understanding the market and acceptance. Depending on the value of the goods [via SP], the cargo may require escort, may encounter delays, and has the risk of highways. So in Navegante, we have already dived into where things are, that was the vision we had for these urgent loads, allocating this route where the importer is".
Moreover, the expectation is that with the opening of this new direct route from Miami, there will be more frequencies during the week, as Hudson complements, "Our flight has a capacity of 50 tons, and we are working towards 2026, averaging 20 tons for each flight, and of course, with expectations of improvement. Bringer already has the released batches, with permission for 3 landings per week, depending only on the cargo demand from importers".
Here at Fast Shipping, we see this milestone as an important boost for those who move Brazil every day.
More logistics route options mean:
· Shorter transit time for sensitive or urgent cargo
· Flexibility for operations that require multiple modalities
· Reduction of bottlenecks and greater predictability in the supply chain
· Competitive alternatives compared to more distant airports
Every logistical advancement in the region opens new possibilities for those who rely on agility and scale. And it is precisely here that Fast Shipping continues to operate: connecting operations with intelligence, speed, and proximity.
